Saving Gas With A Better Gas Mileage Device
Posted by tom under: Cars .
I found an old gas bill the other day. I filled my car fuel tank for less than it costs for me and my wife to have a meal out. I filled my gas tank just a couple of days ago and it cost near enough as much as it costs to have a short vacation. The price of gas is killing my finances.
It doesn’t look like its going to change anytime soon. We seem to be stuck with high gas prices and the cost of gas has become such a large expense that every month some people are spending as much on gas as they spend paying their mortgage to buy their homes.
We have to get off our butts and look to see what we can do about it and there are a few simple thing we can do to use less gas. I know it won’t be easy but I plan do a few less journeys and combine some of my shopping trips into one. Every trip saved helps save gas and it will save me some money.
Another thing I aim to do is drive so I use less gas. They say you can take two drivers in identical vehicles and they will use different amounts of gas and the reason is that the more gentle driver will use less gas. He will probably still arrive at around the same time as someone who drives a lot more aggresively but he will save money. You don’t have to drive slow but you do have to think ahead and avoid being so heavy on the gas pedal and on the brakes. Driving like this gets more miles for every gallon of gas you buy and saves money.
We can modify our cars and trucks and fit them with a better gas mileage device which help to use less fuel and be more economical. It didn’t seem worth the trouble when gas was cheap but now even a small improvement that saves on your gas mileage can save a lot of cash. About the only benefit from the high price of gas is that it makes these gas savers worth trying because it only needs a tiny improvement in gas mileage to make them pay for themselves.
I have been researching on one type of device which is the water to gas hydrogen generator. When I first heard about these I thought it sounded nuts. These take normal water and using electrolysis they produce hydrogen from the water which you can feed into your cars engine and that reduces the amount of gas the engine needs. Turns out these devices can be made in your garage at home. The parts you need are readily available at the local hardware store and they can be fitted to your car or truck in just a few hours.
My research has found that many of the users of these types of device claimed around a 20-40% increase in their gas mileage over what they got without the device fitted. That would add up to a chunk of cash for me so I plan to build one of these hydrogen generators myself. I got myself an ebook online which explains all about it and what parts I need to get so I hope to be saving money in a couple of weeks once I have got it fitted to my car.
