Try Indoor Rock Climbing

I have never got around to trying it but the sport of climbing has always appealled to me. People from all walks of life do go clinbing, it keeps them fit and offers a challenge that is great fun. Indoor Rock Climbing has become increasingly popular and is taken up for many reasons. It’s a good way for beginners to hone their skills and there are enough difficult walls to provide practice for experienced climbers too. The sport has become popular for Corporate Team Building too.

The indoor activity is more than an alternative to outdoor climbing when weather conditions are prohibitive. Indoor Rock Climbing has become a sport in itself and it offers hours of adventure in a safe environment for families and groups. There are centers all over the USA, including Rock City in Anaheim Hills, California. This venue takes party bookings, such as children’s birthdays or church group outings. Qualified staff supervises two hours of climbing with instruction and equipment can be hired. The party room contains tables, chairs, a freezer, refrigerator, and a microwave. Adult only parties can also be booked or classes for tuition, including a High Ropes Course.

Albany’s Indoor Rock Gym in Albany, New York City contains walls and routes of different skill levels. There are overhangs and floor to ceiling cracks. It’s even possible to climb across the ceiling if desired! Regular customers are encouraged to mark up their favorite routes with tape. The thrill of the outdoors is brought inside with this Indoor Rock Climbing center as the walls are painted with scenes of wild animals and sunrises. This center also has an indoor cave system, suitable for all ages.

Rocksport at Louisville, Kentucky has walls for children, beginners, intermediate, and advanced. Facilities include a climbing island, climbing cave, and a store for equipment, clothing, accessories and climbing books. There are also refreshments available and showers. Individual and group instruction is on offer and there are Technique Clinics. The Indoor Rock Climbing center runs competitions and there is a Gear and Pro Shop. There is a portable climbing wall for hire, with a set up time of less than fifteen minutes. This is popular with summer camps and carnivals etc.

The Boulders Climbing Gym is located in Madison, Wisconsin and has walls for beginners through to challenging routes for the more advanced climber. There are adult and children’s classes and advanced classes for adults. The gym runs summer camps for children to climb or climb and go kayaking. They also provide facilities for school groups and field trips and they run a school club and a women’s club.

Indoor climbing it’s kind of different for me than the outdoor. I find the outdoor much more spectacular.
